David's profession is architectural, he

was accepted  into the York school of

Art in 1963 but after only a few

months joined well known major

practice in York. He then moved to

Cirencester and worked for a well

established Cotswold practice.
In Northampton he worked for two

well established practices.

In Bedford he has worked for a

number of practices.

In 1984 he set up his own architectural

practice. For many years he has been a

Consult to architectural and engineering

practices in the UK and Denmark. Working

on major projects from housing including environmental house design (in which he was instrumental in winning awards for the architects) to major theme parks. He has always enjoyed a challenge, many of the buildings he has worked on were grade 1 listed and therefore required very special design and detailing. The practice has been CAD based since 1987 when the practice he was consulting for changed over to CAD. He has been a consultant to Auto Desk and FastCad. Compiling Architectural AEC programs and add-ons.

He has been teaching CAD and DTP operations in offices and schools since 1990.

He now does short term architectural work for a small number of practices in the Midlands and East Anglia, still specialising in Design and design construction detailing.

David's interests outside fencing

Power boating: He raced in the late 1960’s in Offshore events for an old school friend who, (having more money than sense) let him drive.

Shooting: he was taught at an early age to shoot. Has competed at both rifle and pistol at Bisley. He taught Rifle and Pistol Shooting for over six years.

Motor Sport: He competed firstly in club rallying then in circuit racing. A one time member of the AMOC.

Riding: he learnt to ride in the mid 1970's with the simple belief that riding was safer than motor sport (I was wrong!).  he went on to qualify as an RDA instructor and for 5 years taught the handicapped to ride.

He had a stab as a pent athlete, but missed.

Collections: Antique glass and silver

collecting over the years has amassed a fine collection of English drinking glasses from 1680 to 1940. He also specialises in collecting Exeter and Scandinavian hallmarked silver.

Flying: he has since his school and ATC days had a great love of flying jet aircraft.

Since the mid 1980's he has been helping to rebuild, maintain and display fly ex Royal Air Force jets, fighters, trainers, and bombers. His favourite aircraft his Hunter T7 and the only aircraft the soviets truly feared.

Peter a former university fencer with his two daughters joined David at Salle JEUDI Milton Keynes four years ago. In the past few months has begun to prepare the first stages of becoming an instructor taking both group and individual lessons.

Livia Verzeletti my general office assistant house keeper took up fencing not long after arriving at the office some 3 years ago. Soon she was re-organising not only my architectural and household but, also the administration of my fencing activities as well. After a years fencing under her belt she helped me with summer schools and introductory classes kitting out students and, a second pair of sharp eyes is always useful. Also loading all the kit in the big Volvo!
